Program Description
Our program is based upon the latest education initiatives of the ACGME and emphasizes an innovative and progressive curriculum. Residents will have extensive exposure to both inpatient and outpatient rotations, allowing them a diverse and varied training experience. There will be no overnight call and residents will get extensive one on one teaching and training. Rotations include such important areas as research design, quality assurance and utilization review, and residents will have an opportunity to pursue any research interests even in the first year. Residents will rotate through both a Palliative Care rotation as well as Pain Management. They will spend extensive time in ambulatory care venues representing both medical and surgical subspecialties. They will work out of a brand new longitudinal care clinic, outfitted with a state of the art electronic medical record. They will learn inpatient cardiology following patients from entry into the hospital right through any cardiac procedure they undergo including cardiac angiography, EP studies, and even cardiac surgery. They will rotate through one of the most dynamic interventional radiology programs in the country, and learn stroke care and the neurosciences in an extremely highly regarded stroke center. They will even have access to a state of the art medical simulation center. Combine this with a superb medical faculty, and we have a recipe for an outstanding educational process.
